Are most of the job offers on LinkedIn fake?

Be careful

Lately, I’ve seen way too many remote job offers on LinkedIn that just feel… off.
Some ask you to jump straight into a video interview without ever talking to a real recruiter (using AI to speed the process). Others sound super vague or way too good to be true. It’s giving "we're collecting data" energy — not actual hiring.

And here’s the thing: we don’t know for sure what’s going on behind the scenes. But if you’re being interviewed by a bot or AI with no human interaction, and the whole thing feels weird, trust that feeling 🙅.

🚨 Things to Watch Out For

  • Recruiters with no legit profile or network (lookup any recruiter who sends you a message (InMail) on LinkedIn and their relations)

  • Jobs that skip real interviews and push straight to video (to avoid at ALL costs)

  • Vague company details or sketchy instructions

  • Requests for sensitive info early in the process (Government ID, Passport, …)

  • Repetitive job postings that never lead anywhere

🔍 Do This Before You Apply

Before applying to any remote job, especially the ones that sound a little too perfect, go to Reddit. Seriously.
Check out r/RemoteJobs and search the company name. You’ll often find real feedback from people who’ve been through it — good or bad.

Reddit is a goldmine for spotting red flags early.

And lastly, never include your full home address or phone number on your resume.
Many of the companies recruiting remotely do not care where you live (only the city/country) and your email address is enough to communicate.
